My husband is retired after working in a shop for 31 years so that scenario was never an option. They did used to stop at the bar on Fridays once in awhile and gals from the shop would be there. And we both became good freinds with some of his female co workers. What I am saying is, I trusted dhim then just as I do now.

Yes, with no problems at all. Trust is a major element in any releationship....If my partner (if I had one lol) took some one out, so? Just the same way I I meet male clients / or work collegues for dinner....! Not a problem.... we are in a relationship if that doesnt mean anything then hell I would be on the next bus out of there!

do you actually mean 'take out' or is it more a case of 'go out'? If they are two equal workmates who fancy a bite to eat, a few beers and a gossip about work, I don't really see a problem.
But you use the word 'take out', which suggests this is more of a date. What evidence do you have of this? Do you already have some reason to be suspicious of your partner?
And are you in a position to 'let' him or her out? I know I'd be pissed off if my boyfriend said he wouldn't 'let' me go for a few drinks with a colleague.

I wouldn't let it happen as dinner and drink usually end up with only one outcome. I trust my partner 100% but how do you know what the other person agenda is?

My ex husband did this and he ended up getting dessert from the ***** too. Honey you have insticts and you know as well as I that once you get that feeling its time to cut your losses and leave because it is not worth the heartache. If I was you Id get your girls that he doesn't know at the same restaurant with a camera phone. Get them to snap a pick bust his *** and tell him off, but Im eveil like that. I would have been done gone. I have been played enough to know bullshit, don't let him lie to you like that at all. I would not believe that story.

If it's just the two of them...a smart person would have doubts. That's only asking for trouble especially if one not going thinks nothing of it.

I trust him.. and we both do our own thing.. and we both have friends of the opposite sex... Wouldn't be too much of an issue... However if it was to continue and it was just two of them rather than a group work thing... Then I'd have something to say... Absolutely within rights I think..

I'd not be happy about it at all.

You can't help but have doubts... I always think that male and females can be friends but only in a social circle. If just a female and a male hang out... on there own... then at least one of them wants something more than friendship.

Only in my opinion of course.

doubts of course, I am human. Esp. if my partner is paying, way can't the other person pay for there own crap. I am a jealous person so my opinion may not count.
