Don't confuse jealousy with envy.

You are jealous about something that you have (or think you have), but you do not want to lose it to someone else. Jealousy is a difficult emotion to deal with, because it is caused by a character weakness on your part. As Danielle said, it stems from a lack of trust on your part. (especially in respect of a personal relationship). If you are worried about losing your boyfriend to someone else (perhaps to someone 'better than you'), but there is no reasonable basis for your feelings; then you have a problem with yourself; not with your boyfriend.

You are envious, if someone has something that you want or desire but haven't got (whether an expensive car, an ice cream cone on a hot day, or a hunky boyfriend). Envy is a fairly natural emotion, and much more easily handled in a well-balanced person than jealousy.

Jealousy is like a super-sized combo full of emotions:
Anger
Fear
Doubts
Sadness
Regrets
Lack of trust
(the list goes on)

Jealousy is bad for relationships, and bad for the jealous person's own health.

It's really best to try to find people you can trust, and not to need the green monster coming out & ruining things with others.

It's not similar, although you can become angry because of jealousy. Jealousy is wanting. Angry is normally because you don't want.

It is like anger and sadness and madness. Its when all you can think about is what that person has and how bad you want it.
