My period is due today and I spotted the tiniest amount of brown discharge then ten minutes later I got my period. This is normal, right? The brown discharge doesn't mean I'm pregnant if I get red blood afterwards right?

Completely normal. It is just old blood that was leftover from your last period. Most women get it at the beginning or end of their periods.

brown discharge is alright provided it doesn't had any smell. but normally it should be white. discharge means your inner body self protect & cleaning system are functioning well!!
