Herman's Hermits did have a faster song out called "Wonderful World", but it wasn't the same song....their lyrics went something like this:
Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about science books
Don't know much about the french I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me too
What a wonderful world this would be.

Is this the one you're thinking of??

Sam Cooke and later Hermans Hermits did Wonderful World, and its not the same song as the Louis Armstrong song"What A Wonderful World". Hope that helps you out some.

I'm sure there are MANY faster versions, but there are so many to begin with, it's impossible to tell which one you're thinking of.

Here's a pretty comprehensive list:

Missing from that list, is a performance by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (IZ) on his Ka 'Ano'i album (cd). It is part of a medley with "Somewhere Over The Rainbow," and is definitely faster than Armstrong's original.
