I do occupy my time as I'm waiting for the water to boil...it's these new modern kettles that have automatic shut-off once the water is boiled, and as I'm keeping myself busy waiting for the water to boil...it boils and then shuts off while I'm out of the kitchen..then I come back into the kitchen a few minutes later and I have to press the reset button to start it boiling again. The newer kettles, instead of having whistles, they shut off automatically when it boils...so now I went out and bought an older style kettle that plugs in, but whistles as it's boiling, so I can hear when it boils. When I'm
boiling water in a pot to make spaghetti, etc., I
go off and do other things and then I can hear the water boiling over, so there's no problem there. I don't think that many of you got the just of this question...it was another one of my pun on words : ''boiling mad'' - ''boiling water''. It was meant in a jokingly way.

When you mean by 'waiting for the water to boil', I define the water as time, and hell yes I do. I'm really impatient (although I used to not be), because I cant stand to sit around and count down till the end of my life.

No. Lol. Getting mad about the laws of physics is wasting energy.
Multitasking is the key.
You operate on the clock. Turn power on , If you start with hot water from the faucet, you have 2 minutes for it to boil. If you start with cold water, then you add 4 more minutes. Find other things to do to occupy those 6 minutes.
You can accomplish many many tasks in 6 minutes.

Instead of get boiled yourself why not do something else beside? This calls for effective time management. There is absolutely no need to stand in front of stove to wait for the water to boil. I mostly boil water for making tea and while the pan is on the stove I arrange cups and other eatables. So you see, its in your nature to be calm and collected or impatient and mad....Uff, such a long lecture!!!

No, I peel the carrots, slice the cucumber, shred the lettuce and otherwise prepare the salad while the water's heating. Then while it's boiling I set the table and feed the dog. Why stand around with one's thumb shoved up one's posterior orifice waiting for water to boil?
