if a friend (used to be)...said to you that he thank god because you're there...and he can"t approach his other friend because she has a problem., so I'll just stick with you because you're the one I can to.,
what do you think of this., do you think that the person was just using his friend?..or the person was really that shellfish?

The other person was a shellfish? Wow, I wouldn't want to be that person, since lobsters and sea crabs are in high demand for good reason, as they make good eating. Steamed blue crab, served with rice, veggies, lemon, maybe some fries . .. yummy!

Stranger! I'd say it's an insult, but you don't have to ask, you are intelligent , I'd say insult or he isn't thinking what he is asking, maybe he thinks you can be talked into a relationship that with the other girl he couldn't. There are a lot of misleading by the males out there! Not entirely suspicious, but precaution, You have a great day and take care! Jimmy.

I don't get it. Would rather he not talk to you at all? Or do you feel it's an insult because it appears as if he values the opinion of the other friend more than yours?
Whatever the case, friends talk, and almost everyone has more than one friend. Honestly, it's more selfish of you to expect anyone to be your exclusive friend.

This person is very self-concerned and I would take those words as something to keep in mind. If you ever have a problem this person will probably leave you alone too.

Take it as a compliment. He feels like you are a good listener. That is what a good friend should be.

You should feel better that someone is counting on you. Don't make conclusion at this moment, you might lose a friend for false pretense.

I think it really depends on the context.
Sounds more like a poorly worded compliment.
