It's easy to criticize when you're not the President himself/herself so why don't you go ahead and run for President yourself...

It would seem as though being president would be an incredible power trip, but it really is not. The typical person would hate the reality of holding that office, which is being continuously beholden to every special interest which led up to your electoral victory.

For the one who becomes president, though, the process leading up to that point must be invigorating in itself. Therefore, most presidents relish the hold they have on that office because it represents the pinnacle of a process they've grown to know and love.

The process is basically one of shaking hands and shaking down doners for money. Most would rather observe that person from the comfortable position of choosing which political hack will acquire the glitering prize of the oval office.

I would rather elect the president.

I am not presumptuous enough to believe that I could effectively run the country without any prior political experience or know-how, nor would I be well enough versed in law.

Armchair presidents are everywhere on the internet, I am not one of them.
