I know that i am tempting fate asking ANY question about the McCanns but please don't jump down my throat about this as it is just something that occured to me. If one of them over-medicated Maddy, and it resulted in her death, were the twins drug tested? It is a rhetorical question and I don't suppose we know the answer(I'll get in trouble for that I expect) but it is an interesting point I think

They didn't even have to give her a strong drug. She could have been given something like night nurse to make her sleep and then aspirated on her own vomit. Just thought of that!

it is an interesting question and dont apologise for asking a question - you have the right like everyone to ask what you like. It appears there is a ????bullying??? culture developing on this site. Am i imagining it ?
Anyway to get back to your question , i wondered about that too as i read that on the night when Maddie disappeared the police went to the apartment and the twins slept through everything. This seems bizarre and should have raised alarm bells if is was true.

It was reported a while back that the McCanns were asked if the twins could be tested but they refused! Again dont know if this is fact or fiction.
Also as others have said the twins slept thro min 20 odd people (the tapas 9 plus various hotel staff and police)traipsing in and out of the apartment plus all the frenzy outside that happens when a child goes missing and even when the twins were picked up and carried out to be moved elsewhere so the police and forensics could do tests and investigations they still did not wake up allegedly!?!?

You do have a point. Ive not heard any where that this is a fact but if the police thought there was a posibility why the hell havent they tested the twins, It would certainly stop the rumours one way or the other, Surely the McCanns know that as well. It wont hurt the kids to have the test done so surely it would make sense for them to be tested.
The portugese police are really keeping the cards close to their chest on this one!

this is a good question and don't apologise for asking what lots of people are probably thinking, i don't think they would have been tested to see if there were drugs in their system and unfortunately it is too late now, the whole mccann situation is turning into a circus, nobody knows what has happened to poor Maddie and a lot of time has been wasted it is only now that people have found out that Maddie could have been given medication and unfortunately any traces of the drug in the twins system is probably gone, it would just be nice to find out what happened to the poor girl half the world is looking for her

Any overdose would have to be from a drug like midazolam, which would have to be injected.
You are not telling me, even as doctors the McCanns were regularly injecting their children with a restricted class A drug of an evening.
Phenergan, or similar oral suspension is a anti travel sickness drug which is available over the counter and is metabolized by the liver in hours. It is not fatal even in huge doses.
I don't know where the sedation thing came from. It has really grown arms and legs over the past few weeks.
Where was it stated the McCanns drugged their kids?

You raise a good point. However, the fact that they are both medical doctors makes any possible testing potentially useless as they would probably use drugs that exit the system quickly and cover their tracks better than untrained people would.
But something will give it away. Shakespeare said that will out, and I believe that continued scrutiny will identify enough evidence to clear them or condemn them in the case of all three children, who were at least equally neglected with Maddie suffering the worst of it, whether at the hands of her own parents or someone else.

Apparently, according to the media the police asked to test the twins, but the McCanns refused to allow it! Dont know if this is true, its what I heard on the news and read in the paper, but so many people on here are saying that the media are liars so who knows what to believe anymore?

Sorry but this is NOT an interesting point, just one more avenue of disturbing speculation for a family going through difficult times. Would it not be better to back off and let the due process of law takes its course?

If the theory about dosing Madeline is a new one, then it's too late to test the twins for the same thing. I also think an effort is being made to keep the twins away from the media as much as possible. It's hard enough getting reliable testimony out of 2 year olds, especially when they have heard all kinds of theories from the media, and attempts by their caregivers to explain them away. That's why we're not hearing much about the twins.

I don't suppose they were tested at the time, after all it took the police till the 4th to seal off the border between spain and the algarve.
The Police allowed the apartment to be re-let within 10 days, do you really expect they have tested those twins on the 3rd?
Think about it...
