At age 105, still in possession of all her mental faculties, she died peacefully in her sleep. It was a very good life!

In the end she was able to return to the arms of the man she meet so many years ago. Neither thinking this would happen. Thinking how wonderful after 35 years apart was it really going to happen. Only seeing each other again six months ago for the first time in that long. It can't be true, can it? Oh this must be a dream, Don't let me wake up. I'm still that teenager selling candy at that high school basketball game. That tall handsome boy from another school comes along and sweeps me off my feet. But just a year later, after a terrible misunderstanding they are parted for so long. No it's not a dream. We are together again and will be just as we both have dreamed for the entire time we have been apart. Together at last with my first true love. Together at last to spend the rest of their lives in each others arms.

In the end nobody could say he didn't try. I guess it's true what his grandfather had told him so many years ago, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." And like his grandfather he died peacefully in his sleep, not screaming and flailing like the passengers that rode with him in his car that day.

and she died when the last of the guests left hr 100th birthday party celabrations, after hearing on the news that she had won her fourth pulitzer prize. her fortune, amounting to 4.5 billion dollars, was equally divided between her two well loved grandchildren.
