True? There's Christians and then not-Christians. Either you believe in God and Jesus, or you don't. No Christian is any more "true", just perhaps better at following Jesus' teachings. /rant Anyhow, there's no reason to think it would be morally unacceptable. In fact, cows are not made for human's to drink their milk, so it's safe to assume that soy milk seems more within God's plan than cow's milk. But seriously, drink what you want. Soy milk isn't evil. Or try almond milk.

I have never jeard of that . I drank milk all the time during my monthlies and never once was told I couldn't . Maybe your milk was really cold and caused the cramping , or maybe it was coincidental that you had a bad cramp (not contraction) ((you'll know what that is when you have a child )) Or maybe the milk could have been a bit spoiled . Milk is the best thing to drink during a period , it adds the vitamins and minerals that you are losing during that time. Your friend was wrong ,, drink your milk ,

milk is good for you at all times and we probably should drink more especially skim milk as to your pain possibly only a coincidence or perhaps the milk had been kept at a warm temperature and was not good to drink health wise. You also may have problems digesting the milk sugars but this will happen at other times so take care.

If it is cold milk, definitely you will get huge pain. Girls can not drink any thing "cold" or with ice when the period comes.

Wow, I have never heard that before. But maybe since your GI tract is affected by your period (i.e., increased gas, bloating), milk and milk products can constipate you with the increased GI activity....I just don't know.

I have never heard that. I don't think they are related. I drank milk when I was on my period with no bad effect.

actually it's not just milk, but stay away from dairy products in general. Studies have shown that eating or drinking dairy products can cause dysmenorrhea or cramps during your period.

I have never heard it said that we shouldn't drink milk during menstruation, but milk does cause gas and bloating and that may be why.
