Seriously, I can't understand why ANYONE would buy a PC over a mac. YOU CAN RUN WINDOWS AND MAC OS ON A MAC. Try doing the reverse on a PC.
That said, get the mac. The are more stable, viruses are next to non-existent, and you can run windows, too. Plus, you can order your new mac with Windows already installed for you.
EDIT - to "wahi". You are incorrect.
Windows is installed as its own operating system on a partition of the Hard Drive. It is NOT a program running on windows. Boot Camp allows you to LOG IN to windows at the startup screen OR login to Mac - your choice. What you are speaking of is apps like Parellels for PowerPC macs that do not have intel processor. All new macs can run windows as an OS not an app.

This is kind of confusing because I thought all new apple notebooks were intel based. Do you mean should you buy a PC vs an Apple? I work on both and I've always found Apples to be more stable, easier to use, less headaches for everything (except when it comes to finding software) and just plain fun to use.

These days, the only difference between Apple computers and others is the operating system (mostly)
Get a PC.

what kind of software are you going to use, that alone would decide the kind of platform you should go for? if its graphics, like photoshop etc, go for a mac, or if you want to go for gaming, or 3d max then pc/windows based platform is for you. also check out the support system of the comp you are going for. pc based systems can be repaired easily, while macs require specialized support.
true todays mac can support windows based softwares, but they are very slow since windows itself runs as a programme in mac. you'll never achieve full potential if you try to run windows in mac
