I just get this feeling that now that Bush has started to agree to pull out to pre-surge levels by summer, that he's getting ready to send those soldiers elsewhere.....

Like Iran. What with all the propaganda closely resembling the same techniques our White House used for justification of the Iraq War.

Hopefully, I'm wrong about this, but what do you all think?

True enough about Bush following his word. lol But I think Cheney is the one behind all this and Bush is just the puppet leader for the most part. Or Bush is naive and wrongly believes Cheney and his cohorts about waging endless wars.

Sfaa- Um, last time I checked, Iran actually has an army that can defend itself for the most part. Unlike Iraq who's been crippled by a decade worth of sanctions.

And don't you think that any attack on Iran would provoke a new war? Would YOU just sit back and let somebody destroy your stuff? No, you wouldn't. So any air campaign would only be the beginning of a larger conflict.

"supporting terrorists and waging proxy wars."

You mean like our gov't in the US does? Should I remind you, that our CIA has both had dealings with Bin Laden and Saddam? Our CIA TRAINED Bin Laden when he was seen as an ally or "necessary evil" when Russia was in Afghanistan.

Their nuke program? Are you people still using this as an excuse? The IAEA has recently said that Iran is cooperating more with them...And the IAEA has found no evidence of weapon grade nuclear material...and has said that Iran wouldn't be to that level for years.

So yes, what our gov't is using is propaganda.

Noone I- Forwarded liberal emails and coffeeshops? I know of no such things there.

What I do, is listen to the various news reports. And not all media is liberal....Fox is the conservative media, but all they tend to do is parrot the gov't's thinking.

So I suppose you think it is wrong to listen to other people besides your own gov't then. A gov't who generally doesn't have the public's interest in mind when they are deciding things.

But continue to believe our gov't can do no evil. Its a relatively free country afterall.

Oh, and how can I micromanage something I have no control over?

What I can do, is put the thoughts out there and perhaps inform people with a more open mind than you that our gov't is NOT infallible.

Our gov't is human and all that entails. Our gov't is also corrupt and greedy on the most part.

Most Americans seem not to have learned anything from the fiasco that their government has caused in Iraq
they didn`t even manage to hold down Iraq ,as you say a country on its knees .
Iran is not Iraq they managed to last through an 8 year war against Iraq and its American backers .
Is one illegal war not enough, Iran hasn't`t caused any aggression and have every legal right to nuclear energy for peaceful purposes
it seems to me that if America were to attack Iran in view of Russia and China`s mutual distrust of America and the ties they have with Iran that it would be very probable that they would side with Iran against America as they would see this as more of Americas imperialism
do Americans really want to go down in history as the instigators of WW3

A strike on Iran is coming unless Iran does a quick 180, which they won't. But it will be just that, a strike. A week long air campaign at most. We won't invade Iran unless they make overt attempts to intervene in Iraq or begin launching offensives across the Persian Gulf.

And yes, it will be necessary. Unless you like the idea of a nation who's strongest foreign policy abilities are supporting terrorists and waging proxy wars. Propaganda my ***. Look into it, use your own brain. Check out Iran's massive military buildup. Check out the nuke program. Check out how much money they really spend on terrorism.

Whether you like it or not, the United States and the rest of the western world has real enemies that have to be dealt with. We can do it now, or we can wait for World War III.

Actually I'm trying to figure out when Bush started listening to the Dems. They demanded he listen to his generals and dump Rumsfield, he did. They demanded he start with drawing troops and now it's said he is going to and jeshhh... so somehow I doubt he's thinking about Iran invasion. There is no need to do so, they have one gas refinery and import 40% of the rest. So, take out the refinery with one fly over and use the navy to stop any imports and Iran will be neutralized within a week. Hence, no need for ground forces.

People like you are annoying to no end.

Why do you feel it is your job to micromanage something you know nothing about and have only the information that you read in forwarded liberal emails or pick up while listening at local coffeeshops?

Exactly how many wars, international conflicts or battles have you been engaged in? How many have you won, vs lost?

Ever been even...shot at in any way other than a Kwikstop market robbery? Or just attempting to know what the world should do based on your imagination based theory of govn.?

Has it ever occurred to you that you only know what the liberal media wants you to know?

When was the last time this so called man said he was going to do something and did it. Dam jerk off lied to the American people and now its just another lie. Even if he does follow up with the drop off, its not like it has changed anything in Iraq. He is simply removing the troop build up and to me that has nothing to do with Iraq over all.

Please help the rest of this country see past his crap.
