My girlfriend's kitchen. It has the best food and the loveliest cook. The price is low too. All I have to do is the dishes.

Mine has always been local, family owned Italian restaurants. Not just the pizza and sub type, but more upscale. They typically have a full bar and wine list with house wines. The menus have the usual pasta and sauces, but also steaks, and seafood. Most have homemade salad dressings, desserts, fresh breads and house specialties like wedding soup or table side made Ceasar salad, I like them the most because they all have a pride in their restaurant you won't find in a chain food business. I've included a link as an example.

I love the upscale food around here, but my favorite is Tres Hermanos. It's a little hole in the wall type place. It's so laid back. They have the best Mexican food, and beer and wine. And it's cheap and you get HUGE portions. The food is so great, and servers don't bother you. It's not fast food, but you have to order at the counter and someone brings the food. And the art in there is gorgeous. And the locals eat there, which is a good sign of authentic food.

I have two. One features Mexican food, is family run for three generations, and serves large portions and quickly. They will adjust their menu to fit my needs. The staff are there to work (I think most of them are part of the family) and it has a homey atmosphere with great food.
The other has German food, and is run by a husband and wife couple. The wait staff is incredible, and no crowd is too big. The beer garden is fantastic, and the daily specials are better and better each time we go. Also, reasonably priced and extremely high quality.

Doc's in Orange Beach, Alabama. It's a hole-in-the-wall seafood joint a mile or two from the Gulf of Mexico. The seafood is always fresh--if you eat it for dinner it was caught that morning. My favorite dishes are the fried soft shell crab and boiled Royal Reds (a deep water shrimp) served "in the raw"--that means they still have their heads. They are sweet and juicy. Doc's also has great gumbo. It's all good!

Ryan's Family Steakhouse. They have a buffet, with all kinds of food. The waitresses are friendly, and when you finish eating on one plate, they bring you another clean one, so you can go back for more. There is no limit on how much you can eat. The Buffet is usually around $6.95 per person.
They also have no-sugar desserts, and no sugar ice cream. Yummyyyooooo
