I am against censorship almost completely. I certainly think that things like child pornography should be banned because it harms the children involved (I don't give a tinker's damn about the creeps who want to see it). Beyond that, if someone chooses to see/read something, and all involved are of legal age and acting of their own free will, it's absolutely none of my business.

You must be a young one to still think like that.
You cant make any decisions for yourself in the world today.!!
If you live in a neighborhood that has a association they tell you what you can and cant have in your yard, what colors your house can be, if you can have a dog.
If you buy property to build on you have the zoning committee deciding to grant you a building permit or not.
If you pay for property you never own it because if you don't pay taxes on the property every year you have it even though you already bought it the government will come and take it from you for their own.
You cant get too angry anywhere in public anymore or someone nosey will complain.
You cant cuss because it will upset someone children if you are out in public.
You cant smoke in alot of places because it might give someone bad lungs.
You cant drive without wearing a seatbelt because the government knows whats best for you even though your an adult and know you take a risk if you don't wear it and it should be your choice.
About the only choice you have is to work and pay your taxes and whats left you can buy a few things that will make you forget about not having choices.

What you notice (on the 2d, with the communists in ability which will quickly replace) interior the US isn't censorship. Censorship by ability of definition if government imposed, interior the US there are not any rules combating or curtailing unfastened speech yet which will delay to the form. The "unfastened speech zones" at faculties and universities are an instantaneous violation of your constitutional rights as an occasion. whilst a private business enterprise or guy or woman limits what may be suggested on their premises (which includes television and radio announces they produce) in keeping with their ethical, religious, or regardless of techniques that may not censorship. it truly is surely an expression of their freedom of speech in that they might say that they do in contrast to a minimum of something. in many eu countries this is the government telling human beings what they might and can't say and think of, that's censorship and is a demonstration of government oppression. you gets there quickly interior the US with the so-suggested as "fairness doctrine" which will tension each and every radio station and e-e book to easily positioned up far left propaganda decrease than the guise of becoming them tell all factors of a tale.

. We have to appreciate that others need to live their lives free from pollutants, noise, dangerous driving, abuse of others, damage to public property, offencive language, theft,
smoke, drunkenness and all the other misery that selfish people cause. You have the right to be free, but not to over ride the boundaries of the majority. This is not censorship, it is common sense.

you still have to live in a society and so live by their laws. But you are free to try and change those laws, and if you disagree with the previous generation's customs then its traditional for young people to challenge those.

Depends on the situation. eg. If you start dropping "f-bombs" in the office, you're going to get fired, that's not censorship, it's just conforming to company policy.

What you believe is still a freedom so cherish it even if you have to keep it a secret from the censors to protect it from them. Be wise. Choose carefully.

I think it is very circumstantial - are you talking about scrapping whole sets of laws etc, or just the basics like marriage, drinking, smoking etc?
