hi thank you all who answeredmy previous ?..now i face another one...by trying to solve the last problem abt ram&agp and i removed the battry on the board to clear cmos...now wen i start Pc it shows Cmos Checksum Bad...and Cmos Date/Time NotSet F1 to run set up & F2 to load default setup...but the default set up does not work...i solved the Date/Time problem.but the Checksum Bad i can't..plz help me out....i use an asus p5vdcmx mother board...

After loading fail safe defaults, you should SAVE and EXIT. If it does not SAVE and Checksum is Bad, CMOS battery is dead. Replace it. It is usually a CR2032 lithium cell. Some camera stores sell it. Pretty cheap. Usually $0.75 for a pack of 2 cells.

It likely means the CMOS battery inside your PC is dead and needs replacing. Its quite simple, you take the cover off of the PC, and on the main board you will see somewhere a small battery. Its roughly the same size as a quarter (or a 10p for brits). Its a CR2032 battery that you can buy at most supermarkets (Also used for watches and other small electronics) You simply pull the old one and and push the new one in the same place (And of course, the same way up) - next time you boot up you will get that same message again. Press F2 and from thereon all should be fine.

The problem is that the clock on your computer was reset when you pulled the battery out. Hit F1 upon boot and enter the correct time. If you don't feel confident about messing with the computer's BIOS settings, just hit F2 to load defaults. The time and date won't be correct in the BIOS, but it can still be correct in windows. If this keeps happening, the battery might be dead, or you could have possibly inserted it backwards.

Hi, First of all, before you start the pc, did you return the battery after you remove it? If not pls try again (Be sure you connect the battery on the right position or else it won't work) Then try to load default settings again, that should work now.

First check your Cmos by battery tester or Multi-meter or replace it directly and if you still face the same let us know .

Check the battery, they only last about five years or so.

Try to dismantle the memory and clean, and then insert it again be sure that you properly inserted it in the slot. If you have two memory try to test it one by one.
