Here are a few things that have worked for me:
1. Get out of your room. Studying at the library or some other place that is out of your "hanging out" environment can help you stay focused.
2. Study with other people. Not only will you benefit from there skills, but explaining concepts to other people is one of the best ways to firm up your knowledge.
3. Make a crib sheet even if you can't use one. The act of going through the book/notes, picking out the most important information and writing it out by hand will help you remember it.
4. Get a good night's sleep and eat breakfast before your test. All of that studying won't do you any good if you can't focus on the test.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

I was told many years ago to study the way you take the test, that is, if you normally have a Coke while you study you should drink a Coke before your test. If you normally study after dinner, you should have a meal before your test. I realize this might be difficult, but it helped me.

Also, you might try playing some music you like when you study. Somehow, a particular song that you heard while you were studying becomes related to the material you were studying at the time. Then, if you get stuck, you think of the song (the actual music, not just the name) and often this will bring up the material you were studying at the time.

I know that sounds weird, but it saved my butt on many occasions. The disclaimer on this is that I have been a musician for most of my life.

Being very discipline in your studies is very important. Always be a nowist. Don't procrastinate. Start now. If you think your concentration is not sharp, Try to rest for half an hour after each hour of revising. Plan what you want to study for the whole month and make sure you stick to your timetable. Do adjustment frequently. Always believe in yourself that you can do it. Be positive. Make it enjoyable rather than a stressful task. Good luck to you.

Get it done ahead of time and rest right before the test. All of the great students I know do this.

Make plan/timetable - not too exacting and then stick to it.
