Yes, you can get a house with a pool in that price range.

The average home in San Antonio is between $100,000-$160,000 with the largest number of these houses (65%) being 2-3 bedroom homes.

As this is the largest group of houses sold there will be some with pools. You must consider with a house in that price range, the pool could be a significant impact on the price, meaning a smaller, or less desireable house.

On an MLS search of San Antonio there are currently 1,184 homes in the $125,000-$150,000 price range with pools in the San Antonio Metropolitan Area. This does not indicate above or inground pools, however.

You can search for homes at this site:

Just a note about San Antonio if you are moving here:

That which is called the San Antonio Metropolitan Area is 7,340.5 sq. miles, and includes all or part of 8 counties, 16 cities and several small towns and residential communities. The metropolitan statistical area has a population of approximately 2 million people and increased 2.8% from 2005-2006. The North Central area of San Antonio is the most rapidly developing area, growing between 50-60% based on census estimates (includes parts of Comal County). Current projections indicate San Antonio will increase in population by approximately 1 million people in the next 20 years.

Pros & Cons of pool ownership.
Pros:
Can be fun

Good exercise

Cons:
Requires regular cleaning and chemicals

Unsafe for small children and pets unless fenced separately from the rest of the play area in the yard.

Significantly decreases yard space

Generally not used except April-Sept maybe Oct.

I had a house with a pool a few years ago, and my older dog (who didn't see well) fell in and drowned. We used the pool rarely, I had to clean the leaves often, but every 4th of July we had a great cookout and pool party there.

Yes there are homes with pools in that area, however the pools usually take up all the back yard in that price range.

Yes, there sure is. My parents house brand new (back in 2002) was 148,000 and that was with the in-ground pool and whirlpool. They're small, but big enough.
