Kia Ora - Greetings from New Zealand.

I have lived in NZ all my life and love it!!!!

Have travelled around the world and still would rather live here.

England is great too, but NZ has a slightly warmer climate and no snakes.

Kiwi's are very open friendly people and they have an "I can do anything!!!" attitude. Some of my british friends found this quite surprizing when they 1st arrived. We are a nation of DIYers too.

We don't have a class system like in Britain and we are very multicultural embracing european, pacific island and asia cultures.

Our food is great. Fresh, clean, green and mostly GE free. We don't have Tesco's though and apparantly not the huge selection of ready made meals like in the UK.

If you are planning to immigrate then check out the official website:

Hope this helps.

From a Canadian perspective, I found NZ (lived there for six months) to be quite conservative (however, I must also say that I did live with two conservative male roommates). I haven't been to England, but know people who have, and know lots about their culture, way of life ect and would say that it is much less conservative.

NZ is absolutely beautiful and if you are into wilderness adventure, and appreciate natural beauty, then NZ may be for you!
England will of course have all of the historical sites (ex castles) and places ect that NZ will not have.

Someone above mentioned that NZ has good transportation, but I found it appauling (well, their highways are anyways) but they have a good train system from what I've heard (never used the train though). ***unless it's changed in the past two years

I'd also guess that as England has a much bigger population, there would be a greater mix of cultures/ethnicities there.

Good luck with your adventure!

I lived in Enlgand for a couple of years and apart from that I have lived in New Zealand.

Obvioulsly there are advantages and disadvantages to each.
Advantages to the UK is wages, shopping ( choice etc), transport is superior to NZ, proximity to europe for travel and cheap options.History!!!
Disadvantages: too many people (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!), brown brown brown in towns (the majority of houses are pretty bland), people are less welcoming ( some are great but I find them "colder"in personality)

New Zealand advantages: scenery is SUPERIOR!!, people I find in general are more open, lifestyle in general, I personally felt I had a better overall view of the world rather than the narrow view of the UK, lots of wide open spaces.

NZ disadvantages: less wages, costly to buy some things, less choice in some things, less things due to less population eg transport,

I went into the Uk on a work permit...I went with then intention of travelling as much as I could, so I always knew I was going home..I did miss some things in NZ, but its \funny how many people said...oh you are brave coming all this way.....but its only a plane ride back!!!!
Overall I love NZ more...I guess since I have stronger ties here, and I am not sure I would ever go back to live in the UK to work there ( not a great experience)........

In my own humble opinion I would say New Zealand. I have lived in NZ all my life. My Grandparents were from England and moved to NZ just before WWII and then moved back to England because they missed their family. They finally decided that they would indeed be better off in NZ so moved back. I am so happy they did. I visited England a few years ago and loved it but New Zealand is far far superior in all ways. I still have lots of family in England and they have visited NZ and are desperate to live here too.
I would much rather live in New Zealand so the answer to your question is NZ.

New Zealand simply because its more mountanious , has seldom disasters , very safe, good scenery, fresh air, close to ocean, not too many people stuffed there , away from other countries, unlikely to be attacked by any one else.
