How does your doctor diagnose you with having scar tissue or adhesions on or around your ovaries? What causes this scar tissue/adhesions? Could ruptured ovarian cysts cause scar tissue/adhesions? And if scar tissue/adhesions are found during surgery (laparoscopy) what is done to remove or to get rid of this scar tissue/adhesions?

Also, does scar tissue or adhesions show up on ultrasound, cat scan, MRI or only if you have surgery?

what could be possible symtoms of having scar tissue/adhesions on your ovaries or abdomen?

Scar tissue is seen during surgery in most cases but if thick enough will show up on x-ray exams like MRI and CT Scan.

The symptoms of scar tissue is pain and also sometimes a pulling type sensation and this can be caused by the scar tissue making organs such as ovaries and intestines stick together.

To remove the scar tissue the doctor cuts it out and then applies a special kind of barrier product (like a gel) to try and keep them from forming again.
The causes of adhesions can be things like infection or endometriosis.

It's possible a cyst rupturing could cause this but I would recommend checking with your doctor for more information.

Hi I,ve just had a laparoscopy and they found ovarian cysts and endometriosis, they burnt them off and I,ve been told I should be ok now. I had ultra sound scans and they didn,t pick anything up. I can only assume that they would treat scar tissue/adhesion's in a similar way. Good luck, A
