That's a hard choice.
But my favorite of ALL time Is Final Fantasy 6 (or FF3 for the SNES). Great story, compelling game play, awsome music, WONDERFULL all around

I have two categories of favorites: games I will play over and over again due to fun factor, and games I felt a major accomplishment while completing. I will list only games that have been in existence for quite a while, and not any on the newest systems. Since I am 35 years old, I grew up during both booms of the early video game era. Therefore, you will see some pretty old games on this list. Enjoy.
Fun Factor:
Mario Kart 64 - Nintendo 64 (multiplayer is better)
Battlefield 2142 - PC (Titan mode is great)
SSX 3 - Xbox (awesome courses, soundtrack, presentation)
Dr. Mario 64 - Nintendo 64 (versus other players)
Galaga - Arcade or any Namco Museum compilation
Mortal Kombat II - Super Nintendo (versus other players)
Super Punch Out - Super Nintendo
Accomplishment: (with a good dose of Fun Factor)
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Nintendo 64
Banjo-Kazooie - Nintendo 64
Raiders of the Lost Ark - Atari 2600
Metal Gear Solid - PlayStation 1
Dragon Quest VIII - PlayStation 2
Final Fantasy X - PlayStation 2
Final Fantasy III - Super Nintendo (Final Fantasy VI on PS1)

Chrono Trigger - Super Nintendo
Diablo II (with Lord of Destruction expansion) - PC

Resident evil! if i can have the entire series as an option then thats it lol. if i can only pick one tho its between resi 1 & 2 (and if you haven't seen it yet resident evil 5 looks the dogs!)
