Shades of Allan Quatermain, H. Rider Haggard, and Indiana Jones--Conspiracy theorists believe that since the Templars stabled their horses underneath the Temple Mount, they may have stumbled across Solomon's Treasury. The likes of Dan Brown would also spin a fantasy that these treasures are now in possession of the fictional Priory of Sion and the descendants of the Merovingian kings as well as the Templars' successors, the Masons.

The truth, however, is probably much more prosaic:
1) Solomon's son, Rehoboam, used much of the treasure to pay tribute to Egypt's 21st dynasty, and later Kings of Judah used much of what remained to purchase the favors of their larger, more powerful neighbors as well as pay them tribute.
2) Nebuchadnezzar sacked the Temple in 587 BCE.
3) Titus sacked the Temple that Herod rebuilt again in CE 70.

I believe it was stolen by Rome, eventually. It's buried under the vatican. Some of it was a gift from the Queen of Sheba!
