For example I am doing it right now. I am on answers instead of studying for a science exam I have tomorrow.
I know that people will say, "Just get off your but and do it" but I can't. I just can't motivate myself to. I never ever do my homework if the teacher doesn't check and barely ever if the teacher does check it and even then, it's about five minutes before the lesson starts.
It's all right in subjects that I like because I actually pay attention in class but the rest of the time; I just sit there and doodle in my book.
Last term, I didn't do three of the assignments I was supposed to do and somehow, miraculously got away with it. I decided that this term I would try harder and I actually managed to my religion assignment (but that again was completely last minute) but I am not doing well in anything else.
Please help me because I know I am smart enough to do the work but I am just having trouble motivating myself to do it. Please

You need to honestly look at where procrastinating has taken you. If you do not like it that you do not get things done then you need to associate that with procrastinating. Example I had an important thing to do I procrastinated and it didn't get done, now I don't get paid, I hate that I missed that so therefore I hate procrastinating because that is why I didn't get it done!
See if you can get disgusted and angry at procrastination to the point of hating it, you will stop it because the thought of it will disgust you. I did that for my bad habits, once I realized they only hindered me and I felt bad for not achieving because of them I got sick of them and dumped them easy.

I've gone through the same problem. Perhaps it's all about ADD, Atention Hyperactivity Deficit Disorder. It happens to every 1 out of 20 people. It makes you to get easily bored if the subjet is, let's say, "boring." But it makes you get real focused when you like the subject. Einstein, Mozart and Kennedy had ADD. Try this website: addh.org, or just search ADDH in the web.

Coffe is a lot of help or even a pill called ritalin, but it would be better if a doctor recomends you to take it.

might be you have got accustomed your self to procrastinate. The so much complicated in some thing is to begin. Make an attempt in spite of the finest reluctance with a inspiration that u have to, it is going to be very difficult, but when u be successful, it is going to be a excellent sentiment. Then daily you'll be able to get accustomed your self to paintings;)

I think you should schedule yourself a specific time to do your studying, homework, and papers. Set aside an hour each day, always at the same time, and create the routine of doing your work during that hour. Routine is important if you want to get yourself on track. Also, if you have nothing to do for that hour, then review what you learned in class the day prior. You'll find the boost in grades is well worth it.

Okay well first of all, think what would happen if you procastinated everything and you failed at everything...think at what your life would end up as.
If thinking of failure doesn't work, then try talking to yourself while studying and acting like a teacher. It makes it more fun.

Someone else asked this question last month. I was going to answer it, but I kept putting it off. I'm glad you've also asked this question. I'll answer it soon.
