For example, I am watching a movie through a site through Mozilla Firefox. Suddenly, I need an information about something. I cannot close the present window. Pausing it for a while, I click the another browser Internet Explorer and search. After my search is over I am returning to Mozilla and continue to watch the movie. Can I do this? Will this cause any conflict?

Yes, you can do it and it won't cause any trouble.
But instead of opening an IE window, you could just open another tab in Firefox from File - New tab.
