Good male baby name?

2007-09-11 21:48:01 · 15 answers · asked by Sandfrog 3 in Pregnancy & Parenting Baby Names

Alright, it's about time I fess up. Rydell is actually my real name. Reason I asked is I never knew what to think of it really because it was my name. Some would speak up and say it's cool and "unique" and the older folk would, you guessed it, "Rydell from Grease, right?". I don't get that much anymore which is nice. I'm 21 and have learned to like it because it's unique. Just curious what the first thoughts come to other people. Looks like as long as you don't know it from the High School or the shoes, etc... then it's not bad. Thanks everyone for your opinions.

It reminds me of "Rydell High School" from the movie Grease with john travolta (yum!) and olivia newton-john.

Love the name Riley or Ryder but Rydell doesn't do anything for me.

It's a cool name but I think as he matures he may not like it.
The only nickname I came up with would be Dell and that is most likely what his name would be shortened to.
I would give him a classic middle name so that he may have a choice later

Keep in mind Rydell is actually a sur name

Isn't that the name of the high school in Grease? That's what it makes me think of. That or a brand of running shoe.

No, try to come up with something slightly more common or your child may grow up to hate their name.
