Sometimes what is an insult to one person is a joke or answer to another. Of course some times the questions
are insulting.

Because they can. Apparently some of these folks do not get to voice their opinion at home or work so they get on Y/A & sling insults left & right. It doesn't occur to them that it really makes them look incapable of having an intelligent answer.
When I get one of these individuals, I just consider the source & ignore them. It's more fun. If you get upset with them, then they've won.
They seem to think that this site was designed for them, alone.

LOL, idk, sometimes people get in a mood and take it out on other people. I have a smart mouth at times, and I guess it comes off that way to some. I don't call people idiots or dumb azzes for questions they ask, unless your name is SHC or the like. It's just easier to move on to another question than insult the questioner.

I don't intend to but if my opinion does insult someone, well - that's how it is. We're all different. I'll tolerate what you say, I hope you'll do the same with me.
(Sometimes 'funny' doesn't come out as funny in type either)

In my humble opinion it's for one of two reasons; they are under the mistaken impression they're more important than anybody else, they have low self esteem and need to insult others to feel better.

Hmmm. How did I "insult" you? Or is it an "insult" just to answer? I've been on several other boards in Y!A and I've seen what could be perceived or taken as insulting answers on every one of them.

They are faceless and do not have to worry about letting go of their anger and hostilities against life in general by taking it out whoever with no concern for who they hurt let alone repercussions-i,however, according to the YQ&A guidelines have reported them to get them off of here.
Inferiority compexes are prone to doing this garbage. Anger they can't vent one on one in person so here they are. Pity them if you can and go on with your own life.
