The problem with our government is that the most important issues are not addressed, they are skimmed over and issues that give them more political clout are the ones that are dealt with.

First of all, the Houses and the President need to start to implement laws that will help the average family. There should be no such thing as a "No Fault" state, and there need to be some changes to workers compensation. Before any employee is terminated, there should be a process. In states like North Carolina where I live and have terminated several employees, an employer can dismiss an employee for any reason. If I want to terminate you. I can simply say that I do not think you are the best fit for this company, without warning or provocation, I can let people go. Workers compensation needs to be changed to 66% of income to 90%. Employers should not be able to contest unemployment benefits. Those benefits have been paid for that employee, it sits there in case the employee needs it. Terminating and employee then contesting the employees benefits is cruel. The employee has to feed a family once the are no longer working. We should stop forcing our military aid on countries that do not want it. It drains our resources and makes us look like tyrants instead humanitarians.

Presidents rarely do anything to change the country...it's Congress and the Judiciary that that write and pass most of the laws...oh sure, the Prez sings or vetoes...but they can be overridden...
