Glenn Miller, "In the Mood"!!

I would have to pick Sentinmental Journey.

My half-sister and her husband used to sing that to each other. As a child, I could tell how much they loved each other.

Not being a big band era person, I still have respect for Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller as well as all the others. It is really great music to dance to. When I was a child, that was about all there was on the radio. My Dad loved the Mills Brothers. I would also consider anything done by Louie Armstrong with a big band to be great.

This is not a big band era group, but I loved, absolutely loved, Booker T and the MG's for "Green Onions" and "Time is Tight." Sad that they were killed in an accident with some others while touring.

Oh my, have times changed! By the time I was a teenager, we we rocking.

Chattanooga Choo Choo: Glen Miller
I've got Rhythm: Fats Waller
Beguine the Beguine: Artie Shaw
It Don't Mean a Thing: Duke Ellington

Not to ever leave out, "Ole Blue Eyes." Who I saw live at Sun City.

I've got all the 1920 - 1940's era, I just love my music.

I grew up listening to OLD country and BIG BANDS. When I was in High School, I had a combo (guitar, drums, sax, piano)...our intro was our version of IN THE MOOD.

I was pretty young, but my mom played them all the time. my best friend and I would always sing"Sentimental Journey". We liked the Woodchoppers Ball, You Made Me Love you, Satan Doll, Take the A Train. Gosh, I probably have them in a box, forgot about them.
