Any candidate for "worst" should meet the following criteria:

1. Leaves the nation less secure than when he took office
2. Surrounds himself with incompetent and/or corrupt cronies
3. Puts party above principle and the rule of law
4. Appoints ideologues to the Supreme Court
5. Embroils the country in a no-win and seemingly endless conflict overseas
6. Increases the national debt astronomically in a way that future generations will have a hard time paying off
7. Comes into office under a cloud, in a disputed and perhaps fraudulent election
8. Leaves the country virtually isolated by alienating our long-term allies

Hmm. Now who could that be -- ?

Depends what criteria one uses to determine "worst"
Spending, questionable legality of executive power, and massive roll backs of freedoms given by the Founders in the Constitution....Bush the younger.

Before the Bushites get thier hackles up, I voted for the man. That was before I understood that he is NOT a conservative.

Jimmy Carter

I'd say James Buchanan, who sat by watching the southern states secede from the union without taking any action. He had southern sympathies and many people think he intentionally let them take the armories in the south and arm themselves.

In modern times, Carter was the worst president. He actually stills belive that weakness is a virtue, and holds his faulty principles above the welfare of the US.

In order from Worst to Bad

George Bush Jr. - NWO, took America to War and left us there. His evidence for War was zero. Member of Bohemian Club & Skull & Bones

George Bush Sr. - NWO, Liar, Took us to war + borrowed $350 billion from our SS trust fund. He left us an IOU note inside. Member of Bohemian Club & Skull & Bones

Jimmy Carter - Looser + Liar. Member of Bohemian Club

Bill Clinton - inhaled, liar, cigar, sex, drug scandals, you name it Bill did it twice. Member of Bohemian Club

Nixon - Scandals, Liar, Member of Bohemian Club

Regan - He borrowed $300 billion from SS trust fund too, but he didn't leave an IUO note. Member of Bohemian Club

The Government is broke. If everyone took there dollars down to the Federal Reserve Bank and exchanged all our dollars for Gold. This Government would be done. They are just printing paper that their butts couldn't cash. Out in the real world if we are broker than broker, we cannot borrow anymore. This should go the same as the government. When the government is broker than broker, they just print more money... Our money here is worthless, if the government goes bell up.

My cousin's husband came back from Iraq and gave my son a 1,000 Danar from Iraq. He said it's not worth the paper it's printed on. Gold will always be worth something. - Silver, Platinum. Don't wait around for the Amero.

Jimmy Carter is by far the worst president in the "modern era" that much is certain, Franklin Pierce is probably the worst in US history.

Jimmy Carter by a landslide.

It is due to his incompetence that we have the current Middle East crisis. His mishandling of Iran gave us the first Islamofascist State. He gave away the Panama Canal, which is now run by the Chinese. He gave us stagflation, the energy crisis; I could go on and on about his mistakes.

Once he left office he really turned it on. He certified the election of Chavez and received his Nobel Prize for US bashing. I do like Habitat for Humanity but that is a once a year photo op.

The only decent thing he ever did was losing the election to Reagan.

Carter or Nixon

Carter was completely inept as a president

Nixon was the hieght of corruption in the whitehouse

Bill Clinton should get honorable mention (Since Hindsight is 20/20) He had 2 oppertunities to kill Bin Laden and cut the military to the point that by the time Sept 11th 2001 came they did not have the manpower to counterattack a predictable war that was coming. The rebuilding is helping but it proves the danger of having a military without proper equipment and manpower.
