my symantec says it will expire in 2 days - do i have to renew and pay the $75 fee??beause we flexirent this computer (pay a monthly fee to have it) i never had to ;pay when we first got it unless this came with the package?? does anyone know????

you can use any antivirus you want
if you let the rental place have the computer back you will need to wipe the head drive anyway

If you wish to keep using it, of course you do! You're only renting the computer, NOT the software that's installed on it. You can replace Symantec AV with some other AV package if you wish. There are several decent free ones such as AVG but you MUST have active up-to-date AV software on your machine.

You'd have to check the terms & conditions on your rental contract, and maybe call the rental company if unsure. But I suspect it's not covered.
Lots of people use AVG, it's available in a free vergion.
