How do your doctor diagnose you with having scar tissue on or around your ovaries? What causes this scar tissue? Could ruptured ovarian cysts cause scar tissue? And if scar tissue is found during surgery (laparoscopy) what do they do to remove or get rid of it?

Scar tissue if thick enough can show up on x-ray exams. Scar tissue can be caused by things like an infection to the ovary itself, endometriosis. As for a cyst causing this, it's possible but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

When scar tissue is found during a surgical procedure the doctor will cut it out as much as possible and then put in a special kind of barrier to try and keep it from building up again.

Symptoms of scar tissue can be a lot of pain and also a sensation like someone is pulling on your organs.

I have had eight surgerys (laparoscopy) on my orvaries for cysts. Yes cyst that have ruptured can in fact cause scar tissue and it will build up over time. The scar tissue that I have on my ovaries is very painful at times.

As far as removing the scar tissue they do try to remove it but it is difficult to remove all of it. If you having pain around your ovaries you should go see your doctor.

Depending on the amount of scar tissue it can be detected with and ultrasound.
