I mean, I cannot listen to the station because they don't play any variety at all and they call themselves the world famous KROQ station but does anyone really listen to it? With a name like KROQ, they should be the best ROCK station on earth but I am pretty sure its the worst! Any comments?

I wouldn't call it the worst station in Los Angeles- that prize goes to KIIS FM. But KROQ does suck and their radio jockeys are dumbasses that have no clue about anything. I miss KNAC and Pirate Radio. KNAC was all metal all the time- they even broadcast live concerts every Saturday and had interviews with tons of metal musicians. Now it's a Spanish station (I think). Pirate Radio used to be metal and rock, but now it's a dance music station. Radio in L.A. sucks- it only plays mainstream crap.

It's been years since I've lived in the LA area but I've noticed the same thing with radio stations in other areas. They are often completely automated and have severely limited playlists. As a result, I hardly ever listen to the radio anymore. I just can't stand hearing the same songs over and over again.

It's most likely all maintstream crap.
All the good rock stations & channels have deteriorated to playing Fall Out Boy & My Chemical Romance.

Any urban rock or pop station trying to appeal to the masses will amuse no one.
Get a cross section of classics, album cuts and new material that isn't trying to sell acne medicine on the side, and get rockin' already.

that hella sucks i love the bands Disturbed, pod, Paten Pending , Linkin Park , Lustra,Blink 182 and sh*tt like that i'm lame i know but what doesnt this radio station play , or what does it play thats the problem, any way try calling up and see what the hella going on there or listen to online radio i listen to extreamrockradio i can get you the adress if ya want i'm 16 i have an excuse to be lame as hell

you should have pronounced the name of the station with all 4 letters ... that's KROQ (crock!) which is exactly what it is.

i never listen to the station...i think the only good thing they have going for them is kevin and bean
