If I buy a computer that has a core 2 duo pentium with 2.4 Ghz do I really get 2 pentiums of 2.4 Ghz- meaning I get 4.8 Ghz or do i get a computer with only 2.4 Ghz?

Actually even better than 2 Pentiums because Core2 Duo does MORE instructions per clock cycle and at LOWER wattage than a single core Pentium.

BUT you will NEVER get the 4.8Ghz speed. It is just like having 2 cars that could do 100mph each. You can never do 200mph with those 2 cars but you can do a lot more with 2 cars rather than waiting for Dad's car so you could drive out with your date.

lols... no... core 2 duo doesnt mean that you have two pentium... core two duo is one of the latest model of micro processors now a days.... they are more faster than old pentiums... some has duo core, some core 2 duo, or some core duo. leading microprocessor companies are INTEL and AMD...

They are going to release their new microprocessor called quad core... means the micro chip has 4 core that makes the CPU much faster... so much to explain how does it works and its structure, i know u wont understand. computer engineers know what im talking about...

It means your Processor have 2 core... but Speed is 2.4GHz
Your processor will do lot of Multitask in a time but at 2.4GHz speed...

Think you have 2 car and can loard double things...

Two core is faster than one core in multi-task,but it not means double speed.
