Yes I do and she loves it. She sits on the arm of my chair grinning at me. I also make that 'chirrup' noise when I come home after being out and she does it back to me. It is the noise they make from the back of their throats which is a greeting and is the noise a mother cat makes to her kittens when she returns to them after going out.
Don't forget the slow blink too. They REALLY like that.
You're not loony at all. You obviously speak fluent cat!

I speak both canine and feline and hissing at kittens or yelping at puppies stops them biting!
I don't know what I'm saying but cats always answer back. They insist on having the last word!
Some dogs do answer but most just give you a funny look.
Try meowing at your dog that always get's a reaction!

I love talking to my cats in purrs - I'm not mad - they love it.

My cat taught me how to purr and my mother in laws cat will lay on my chest and knead my face with her paws when I do it.

yup I purr to them when they behave.....I sometimes meow because it makes them come running and when I want them to leave me alone I hiss and make angry meows at them......It sounds nuttier than squirel poo but it works.LOL I also bark at my dogs.
