Uhm well, typically my urine has no smell. Recently, about 2 weeks before september I noticed my urine started smelling sweet and sugary. Almost the same dense strong sent of male urine, but it was fine-odor.

My urine is a normal light coloured yellow. It is NOT dark.

I don't eat a lot of sugary things like candies, I mostly eat fiberous foods and pastas.

Anyone know what this is and if it could be a sign?

I've heard that this is an early symptom of diabetes. I would get checked out by a doctor on this one.

Get your self checked by the doctor. Just because you don't eat a lot of candy doesn't mean you can't have diabetes. Not to suggest that you do but better to be sure. Early intervention makes a big difference with health.

SFGuyBryan is correct; high sugar diets can result in excess carbohydrates being expelled through urine. You did the right thing by getting tested for diabetes. Try cutting back on the sugar for a week or so and see if there is a change in the smell

This CAN be (but often is not) a potential sign of diabetes, so get a can of pee-strips for urine sugar at the pharmacy.

If it were diabetes, you'd probably be urinating more frequently.

Urine odor often changes depending on diet....think about your eating and drinking habits...have they changed?

If so, that may be responsible.

The only REAL difference between sugar and carbohydrates, diet-wise is that sugar is broken into glucose much quicker.

You need to see your doctor right away. The coloration of the urine can be influenced by the foods and their additives (like food colors), by medications, by illnesses and even the environment. Let your physician make that determination as to what best fits your needs. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. Peace, Love and God Bless.

pasta converts to starch which converts to sugar.

If you are drinking a lot of soda it will also make your urine sweet.
