Didn't they search the hired car for a couple of days, then give it back? If they felt the parents were a thorn in their sides, and wanted a solution, especially one that wouldn't make tourists feel Portugal is a place to be avoided, is it possible they 'planted' some DNA in the boot of the car? Or am I just in denial and coming up with farfetched 'conspiracy' theories? I hate to think poor Madeleine is dead :-(

Hard Rocker - I truly don't believe Kate and Gerry 'sold' their daughter into the sex trade. If anything, an accidental overdose, finding her dead, and not being able to report it knowing at autopsy the sedatives would be found, and checking the twins urine etc. would have found drugs in their systems as well. Facing homicide charges, having the twins taken away, family disgraced, losing the ability to practice medicine, basically just losing everything - all when no matter if you hung them by their toenails it still wouldn't do a thing to bring back Madeleine.
But although I fully realize that it is not considered normal anywhere (as far as I know) to leave three children, under the age of four alone in your unlocked holiday apartment while you go for dinner, I still feel terrible for them. They never set out to kill their child - it had to have been a tragic accident, and no matter how you look at it, they've 'lost' their precious Maddy - and for that they have my unending sympathy

Like everything it is a possibility. We will have to rely on the evidence that is put forward and how that is disputed by the McCanns. The McCanns' behaviour seems quite odd on the other hand the Portuguese police are trying to get to the bottom of a very difficult case. I fully expected when the going got tough the McCanns would flee back to the UK and then say they were being stitched up obviously that will be their last line of defence. I personally dont believe the police are "hickory dicks" at all, and I think we will just have to wait and see what develops. Its an extremely sad case, because Madeleine is "missing". I just hope there is irrefutable evidence brought to trial that has not emerged yet so there will be justice and closure.

I would hate to think so but it is a very odd case. If the Mc Canns did it why did they keep in the public eye so much etc starting a fund etc etc. They are intelligent people surely they would have just gone home and let things settle rather than doing high profile stuff like seeing pope etc. The whole thing is bizarre and how come it has taken the Portugese police so long to name them as suspects. At first they thought it was someone else. Where could the McCanns hide and move a body for 3 weeks with all the public interest, which they encouraged.
It is so sad if they are innocent as the focus has moved away from finding madeleine and also what must they be going through. Depending on what i read one day i think they did it the next i dont!!!.

If you wanted to frame someone then it would be a bad plan to frame a person who is constantly in the limelight. The police are treading carefully so as not to upset the British public as people will be up in arms unless the evidence is conclusive as this site proves. The Portuguese police may want this case over with but it would be easier to frame someone like Murat who isn't popular with the general public anyway. If the police did frame the McCanns and people found out then there would probably be major problems as the British public would stop visiting Portugal and probably want compensation for the McCanns. It sounds weird but again the amount of animosity on this topic proves the group mentality of people. I'm sure that the police are smart enough to know this fact too so are taking things slowly. They have given a report to a judge before making the arrests and are talking about gathering more evidence if needed. If the McCanns are arrested then I think that it is very unlikely that they will be declared innocent at a later date.

No i don't think they are being framed, i have said from day one that sumthin wasn't right about the way the mccanns have acted in the public eye. there was no emotion from either of them at all. if you had a child that went missing think about how you would react and how others have reacted in the past in front of the media, full of emotion.
i don't know if they are both guilty or just the one, i do beleive that sumthin ain't right there. there are a number of things that make me so suspicious bout it all, thay messed bout the apartment when realised maddie wasn't there, therefore messing bout with forensics. lack of emotion or none at all, flying of here there and everywhere, how quick a website was set up and a fund to fund them going here there and everywhere, wrist band things,, the list is endless. when she came out from that interview after 11 hours she looked guilty, gerry however didn't. dna has a lot to be said for, what they have found is of substantial importance, it didn't take a genius to work out that as soon as the forensics were back and they were questioned that they would become suspects. i am waiting to find out now what the item they wish to seize is, obviously important i think. look at how quick aswell the evidence was passed onto the prosocutor and then the judge. can you really sit there and think at all that they are innocent????

dont be bloody ridiculous. the police are professionals! if thats what police do then no body would have any trust in them at all! i think you are on of the few pro mccanns who r in total denial.
the mccanns are going down. for me enough evidence is there to prove they have somehting to do with it. it all makes sence to me now. my idea of what happened: maddy was being over hyper that night, they sedated her but accidently overdosed. they knew they had no need to check on them as they had all been given the sedatives. on return they noticed maddy dead, panicked and spent the next half hour deciding what to do. they hid her somewhere (maybe that church??) got back and rung the police. (evidence states it took them over half an hour to get in tuch with the police!). since then they have done all they can to make it look to the public that they are innocent: kate carrying around cuddle cat (publicity stunt), the cheesy website, the fund, the balloon stunt, the many many media interviews. however all through that i have never seen one tear form either of them!!!! aren't they heartbroken?? if i lost my kid the tears wouldnt stop flowing!!
now they know they are close to being busted so they have come home (even tho they stated they wouldnt return home until maddy is found) to seek support form home town and to be reassured people are still in love with them.

the entire case has been about them...not maddy. i cannot wait until the mystery is solved and they are locked up.

but hey...thats just my opinion/

The McCanns have managed quite sucessfully to frame themselves. All the Portuguese Police have done is try to uphold their Laws like police forces do around the world including ours.

I think its a dangerous concept to accuse the Police of any land of 'frame ups' just because we support those who are being suspected or charged.

Portugal and Aruba both should be boycotted by ALL global travelers. My strong theory suggests organized crime in these two countries dips into the sex trade, along with their traditional criminal enterprises. If Portugal hides anything, this would be it. By the same turn, they want to throw the book at parents who sell off their child as "adopted".

Look at it this way: Who has more police pay-off power? The Mob or Mom and Dad McCann? Each day, scores of children world wide are bought and sold in organized crime's child sex trade. It's my guess Madeleine is one such child.

Madeleine is either alive, having been illegally "adopted" (sold in the sex trade) or is dead because as living evidence, she's too hot to have around; much like the Holloway girl in Aruba.

So, if the evidence strongly suggests Mom and Dad McCann did in fact, sell their daughter as "adopted" commodity, tell me what YOU think of them as parents.

Ok so the Portuguese aithorities are trying to frame the McCanns as well as the British police who supplied the sniffer dogs and helped with the whole DNA analysis, in addition to the Portuguese prosecutors and the Portuguese judge

Ok then... I guess you could say you are clutching at straws BIG TIME.

Dont be ridiculous. The Portugese Police are no different to the UK police. They are under intense scrutiny - to suggest they would make it up because they hate the parents is just the most daft idea.

Only the people that stupidly gave to what appears to being converted into their legal fund would buy that b*llsh*t

Personally, I don't think they are being framed. I have a hard time imaging being able to frame someone who left their young child by themselves to go eat dinner. That isn't safe to do anywhere in the world today that I know of. Seems like they've done a good enough job on their own to make themselves look bad.
