Mt. Saint Helens was a pinprick compared to Toba, whose eruption nearly destroyed our species. Only a couple of thousand people probably survived worldwide during that event, and all of us are their descendants. Yellowstone could be just as bad.

considering the earthquakes today, it might be the NEAR future!!... wow... until this question, the only SUPER volcano I had heard of was the one at Yellowstone that was on the Discovery Channel specials.... but this one... wowee!!... might start stacking firewood, huh?....
