the only people who I'm used to hug with are my close family and having grown up close to them I know where their hands are so I'm not afraid. Hugging seems to be very popular these days, but, it still seems strange to me when people outside the family try to hug me. Used to be strangers would only gently and hardly touch your arm, or a male would "almost" pat you on the back.

No, because no one gets to hug me unless I want them to. Keep your distance if you don't feel comfortable with them, if they try to approach you with a hug, bring out your right hand forward as a handshake gesture (if its applicable) or semi-hug put your hand on the other's shoulder and give her a cheek to cheek kind of greeting.

no I actually feel comforted when they touch my back...+I wouldn't let anyone whom I suspect would literally stab me in the back to hug me...I'm more afraid of those who might "stab" me in the back if you're getting me...
You have to go to a doctor for these delusions you know...Dr Clooney for Alice please...
