I would suggest doing a non fiction book report about your favorite band, actor, athlete/sport, craft, personality like Rachel Ray or Judge Judy. Maybe you like a certain writer, painter or graphic novelist.
Or something that has to do with women in history like the first woman doctor, pilot, pirate, journalist, Sandra Day O Conner, Anne Frank, Harriet Tubman, Sally Ride, or Annie Oakley.

Read something that catches your interest. There is a book out there for you! Check out subjects at Amazon.com or go to your local library or book store and browse through the non fiction subjects or biographies. Have fun with it because nobody else can tell you what to like!

Good Luck!

Any of three books written by Framk McCourt: Angela's Ashes (which got a Pulitzer), 'Tis, and Teacher Man. Teacher Man and Anglea's Ashes stand best on their own, and Teacher Man is more present-time, more contemporary than the ohers. And they're all non-ficiton.

So is The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls... it's good too.

The above books read like fiction, so I'll stick with this list...ooh, and if you can find it, get a great book about a great dog named Stickeen (both dog and book) by John Muir, that intrepid explorer and lover of the extreme.

Have a good time reading all these books!

Seabiscuit by Lauren Hildenbrand, meticulously researched while the author suffered from a debilitating illness,it is the biography of a racehorse and all of the people in his life.

Dog Years by Mark Doty. This is very new. A memoir to his 2 dogs, but much more. Beautifully written.

Something In The Air by Marc Fisher. Also new. About the history of radio. Interesting and readable.
