I want to upgrade my Ram on my computer. From (2 x 256mb ram = 512 mb ram) to (2 x 512 mb ram = 1 gb ram)

I buy my computer in 2001 (it was the high price computer at the time.)

Now I know I have SDRAM & DDR Ram but can't mix them togheter.

So I buy a 2 x 512 sdram pc133 (non ecc) 168 pin.

If my motherboard is to old... My 2 x 512 mb ram will change nothing compare to my actual 2 x 256mb ram??

Here is the only picture I got with my motherboard in :

You think it will fit ? and improve the speed?

THANK YOU!

2x512mb would improve your PC's performance significantly. BUT it is better to do your memory upgrade on the ddr slots. ddr is faster than sdram.

what you show in your picture are pci slots not the rambus for starters. the rambus will be farther up and have tabs at each end to release the ram.
If your system uses pc133 it is an older model and you would absolutely be smart to take the advice of previous poster and scan your system at http://crucial.com it will tell you compatibility max amount etc.
you will benefit from an upgrade but make sure you buy what you can use. it is far to easy to buy incompatible ram if you don't do your homework first.

sure this is going to assist as much as 4 sticks of it. remember tho, including any further than 8 gigs is entire overkill so do no longer fill it up questioning this is going to run greater powerful because of the fact this is going to in no way use 8 gigs.

Go to crucial.com and press "Scan my system" it will tell you what memory you have installed and all your memory upgrade options.
