to all computer and maya experts out there, i wanted to do a hardware rendering in maya 7 yesterday, and the system told me my graphics card isn't sufficient to do it. Would you guys recommand me some nice but also economical graphics card for a Toshiba laptop? Thanks so much!

You need FireGL or Quadro FX cards.

I too first considered GeForce cards, but Quadro cards may actually be better for rendering. From what I've read GeForce cards are geared more towards gamers and Quadro cards are geared more towards rendering.

since autodesk Maya is a 3D application software it requires high hardware specifications.., you need to have good graphics card to avoid monitor lag...

you may try Nvidea or Ge-force-Based graphics card with 128-512MB buffer allocation... you must also consider at least 128MB DDR-type RAM....also take note of 64-bit processor for faster graphics application.....
