Complements add up to 90

Angle = x

its complement = 90 - x

the measure of an angle is 10 less than 4 times the measure of its complement

x = 4(90 - x) - 10

x = 360 - 4x - 10

5x = 350

x = 70

Let x = the angle
Then 90 -x is its complement
So x = 4(90-x)-10
x = 360-4x-10
5x =350
x=70
