i sometimes wonder what sort of things would actually be valid evidence for intelligent design. perhaps something non-functional, like an artist's signature. or, if a particular god (i mean designer) is being envisioned, something like broken immortality genes. you know, from the time adam and eve were in the garden ;) no such thing has yet been discovered but i'd be willing to argue that they're possible. personally, i'm not holding my breath though.

I believe that evolution is a viable theory, but at the same time I believe that some omniscient entity created the universe. Some scientists believe that the universe began simply by accident, but even then you're forced to conclude that some First Cause *must* have made it possible for such an accident to happen. Same with the possibility that the mechanisms of evolution were designed and set in motion by some prime being.
Trying to imagine that our universe began solely on its own is harder than to imagine people who insist on trying to take literally a book written by multiple mortals thousands of years ago and which is crammed with contradictions and vagaries beyond number.

I really believe in both because God made our genes (ex. intelligent design)and gave us the lea-way to change over time (evolution) is that so complex an idea. I'm a creavolutionary you got a problem with that.

The folks mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh made a blend of 'monkey' and 'their race.' Then they got in a fight and blew some things up and headed off this planet for a bit or at least kept to themselves. Their monkey lab progeny fell to worship of gods as story passed down through these men. We got bigger, smarter and forgot our heritage.

George W. Bush did not evolve from a smirking chimp. He was designed by an intelligent being with a warped sense of humor.

yes. intelligint design is good because it keeps people interested in faith despite modern science and in the end this will result in more money and political power for the church.
