How do you read the stocks on Bloomberg TV and similar channels?

You have to know ticker symbols. Even though there are several thousand symbols, some of the biggest ones are frequently repeated. If you are interested in 20 or 30 stocks, you will soon see one that you recognize. Even people that don't own or trade the stocks, may be interested in a particular industry or stocks from a particular geographical area.
The ticker shows are three of four letter symbol followed by the stock price and how much it has risen or fallen during the day.
