it's more of a desciption/perception issue.
in other words, if you believe something to be true, it becomes true to you. Alot of people in todays time have not experienced racism first hand, but because they believe it to run rampant, it becomes in effect, true to them. they perceive it us such

Firstly I'll say NOT ALL DO. Most are fine with it. Your question could be seen as a generalisation because you didn't include the word "some."

Now to answer.. Some black people (*Kanye West* springs to mind) will play the race card because it's an easy way out. It's easy to put something down to skin colour than it is about something deeper about yourself.

The attention thing is big aswell, it's their way of getting some attention.

I have a feeling nowadays some *NOT ALL* black people reinforce the stereotype more than whites.

I also don't think being black means you have right to say "the N word". It's total double-standards. One rule for me, another rule for you. It doesn't work. Either everyone can say it and people stop being so sensitive (I think this way is best) or nobody can say it (which to me will make more people wanna say it for attention etc).

First, the question puts black people in a group by making it seem its asking like its "all" of black people and all of them consciously "love" to reinforce stereotypes. You would have to put yourself in their shoes and try to imagine how it is for them to live day to day, how they were raised, the situations they've been in and how past experiences shaped their outlook and behavior. The general pop culture is what the public perceives and groups people as. There are people from all different backgrounds reinforcing stereotypes whether you like it or not. I don't believe most people go around consciously thinking: "Oh I think I'm going to rob the bank today cause I love to reinforce this stereotype! Can you water my ferns while I'm out?" Ok a point can be made that the image of a "gangsta" attracts people because of the idea of notoriety and that bad is good. And it may be distasteful to you or truly against your character the way you view them as a whole. The world isn't just good and bad, there are so many layers to issues between the two. In my opinion in regards to rap music specifically, I believe that it should just be viewed as entertainment and move on. I know it isn't cut and dry like that but bottomline there is more to a "people" than an image, there are individuals who as single persons don't readily have the position or power to change the way you see them in the media and as individuals. They may be the same people stuck living in the slums where it is their reality to a certain extent, whether glorified or not by pop culture.

I wonder the same thing. Just yesterday I was minding my own business driving down the street and a car full of black males pulled up next to me blasting offensive rap music that mention the "n word" every 3 seconds. One looked over at me and said "what you looking at mother ******" even though I was in no way looking at them. in fact i was avoiding eye contact. I'm not racist and you can go to hell if think I am. The fact of the matter is alot of black people(not all) like to act intimidating and like portray themselves as dangerous. Until this stops society is not going to give them the respect they deserve. This has nothing to do with whites or any other race.
I dint want to turn on MTV and see a rap video exploiting violence, drug use and women..bottom line.

IDK, white people always say that it's wrong to call a black person a *****, but yet the blacks call the people within their own race that, and it's not half as insulting as when a white man says it.
I think it's to get attention sometimes. They overreact a bit. Some of 'em, at least.
