I was wondering, how does Hollywood make their actors look like their doing something, like smoking a cigeratte, when they don't want the nicotine in their body? Also, how do they give an actor a tattoo thats not permanent but make it look real? How do they create blood and get it to appear at the right moment? Any other things you know of that Hollywood does especially, please tell me as well.

The props are fake if the actor doesn't want to smoke. But usually it's not fake.

The tatoo is similar to one I got in Hawaii. It's like spraypaint that stays on your body for a week. They have a specialist do it.

The blood is usually inside the knife and it squirts out fake blood (which is red water coloring). It's either that or comupterized.

There's probably a million things so I wouldn't name all of them.

If you really want to get in the film making business and how they do it, I suggest going to a film school such as Ney York Film Academy.

Seriously, in LA, every body has a auto; except you're employed proper subsequent door in your residence, you wish to have a auto. LA public transportation is beautiful lame. West Hollywood has extra bars, eating places and stores however it's also insanely costly. Hollywood is extra low-priced and generally is a rather unhealthy discipline, above all the additional east you get. Personally I might decide on West Hollywood however I do not forget how much cash I used to be making whilst i used to be 23... I might undoubtedly advocate checking different places reminiscent of Burbank and Silver Lake too, since they're plenty extra low-priced.

The blood (from bullet holes) has been done for decades by using what are known as "squibs". These are small amounts of explosive (like a small firecracker, often black powder) which are taped to the actor's body. Behind the explosive (between it and the actor's skin) is 1/2 inch of metal that prevents the explosive from hurting the actor. In front of the explosive is a thin sac (sometimes a condom) filled with fake blood (fake blood is easy to make; it can be done cheaply with just Karo syrup, water and red food coloring...others use strawberry syrup). The "squib" is usually placed under the actor's clothes, where it can't be seen. When another actor fires a gun (with just a blank, of course, no bullet), they trigger the "squib" with a battery. It explodes outward, causing a realistic hole to burst out in the actor's clothing, as though he had been shot, and causing "blood" to spray and/or run from the "wound".

(Obviously, this is dangerous if not done correctly. The squib could easily blow a chunk out of your skin if the metal failed to correctly block the explosive blast. So leave this to the professionals. Don't try it at home.)

Similar "squibs" (and larger ones) are used to simulate gunshots to objects, such as wooden fences, where you can see the "bullets" tear holes in the wood...
