I was induced at 6 in the morning on Jan 2 and had my son at 10pm. My son weighed 8lbs 12oz. Good luck to you. I am sure yours will be much quicker because the nurses didnt give me the right amount of petocin.

I have had 5 babies, the smallest being 7 pounds and the biggest being 10 pounds. It was no harder delivering the 10 pound baby than the 7 pound one. I do have to say that they were my last 2 babies though. The 1st delivery can be harder just because things haven't been 'stretched' out before.
I was induced 2 times and the labors were both about the same length. For me, a usual labor was about 12 hours from start to finish and the inductions weren't any different. That doesn't mean that yours will be exactly like mine, of course! Everyone person is different!

Baby 1, induced, 7lb 15 oz, I wasn't a full 10, but the nurse wanted to "work" me to get me ready, then they had me push for 30 minutes until my heart started acting up and they had to vacuum her out, she tore me. 8 hours in labor
Baby 2, induced, 8lb 11 oz, They waited (new hospital) till I was ready, changing my position, I was able to feel the pressure and it was a great feeling, they waited till the doctor was there and at that time, because they let him come down naturally instead of making him come down by pushing, all I had to do was push twice! It was a great experience, I wasn't exhausted from pushing and it went so well, no NICU cause of the vacuum. Labor was 8 hours.
Third baby, induced because we were worried about her size, 9lb 11oz (2 weeks early) In one hour, right after I got the epidural, I shot from a 4 to a 10, which usually happens over a period of hours, I was shaking uncontrollably and getting intense pain in the groin with each contraction, like everything was going to explode, after enough medicine, the pain stopped and she was born shortly after, when we could finally find my nurse! Labor was 6- 6 1/2 hours. 5 hours not much progress and then BAM ready in an hour. Sorry for all the details. I had to push more with her because the baby was having complications, they needed her out fast. All children were vaginal, and I think the last was meant to come that fast, otherwise they would have done an emergency c-section.

I wasn't induced because I was sheduled for an induction on a Thursday and he decided to come on Tuesday! 7 days late! Oh well. Anyway he was 8 pounds and I would not say that it was too bad. I really didn't think labor was as bad as I thought it would be. You just get into a zone and you deal with it. I really enjoyed laboring in the bath tub it was so relaxing for me, I was even sleeping in between contractions (and I had no pain medication) Congrats on the baby! Motherhood is great!

1) Ultrasounds are not very accurate at weight estimates. They can be 1-2, sometimes even 3 lbs off. Don't let "big Baby" theory scare you.
2) If your body made your baby big, then you can deliver a big baby. Your body will not make something too big for you to deliver.
3) I was induced with my first. I was in labor for 22 hours. He ended up weighing 9lb8oz. It was hard, and frustrating, and I never want to go through that again. Why exactly are you being induced?

Alright when I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound they said my baby was 7lbs 14 oz at 7/8 months! So I thought man I am going to be having a 10 lb baby! That is going to hurt! Well he weighted 7 lbs and was 3 weeks early!!! I was also induced with petocin, and I reacted badly as well as the baby so I ended up having a c-section. (Not to worry you) It wasn't to bad the 2 weeks following sucked but I had no complications. I hope everything goes well for you! Good luck! They are wonderful! (:

try not to stress to much my doc told me i was having a big one with my first he was 8 pound 9 , i also have two girls one 8 pound and the other 6 pound 4 , my 6pound 4 was worse than my biggest as she had a bigger head .. so i think it doesn't really depend on the weight its your body and head circumference!
I was induced with all three
first one had gel night before didnt have any pain but doc told me my cervix was ready and she broke my waters 7 hours later my son arrrived
second didnt have the gel they just broke my waters and 3 hours later my daughter arrived
third i had the gel as i was induced 4 weeks early as i had bad carpel tunnel syndrome again felt no pain took me to delivery broke my waters and 2 hours later my daughter arrived..
im hoping this one will come on its own but i doubt it ! i think the only bad thing is that you know your baby is coming on that day and that made me nervous ! All drug free apart from bit of gas
hang in there everything will be fine
good luck :)

With my second son I was induced becuase of my water breaking before the onset of labor. It only took 5 hours but it was a hard labor. I guess doing it without any meds would make it hard, right! Good luck. With my first I was natural and that took 21 hours. We will see with my third!

first of all, congrats!! i've got not had a toddler yet, yet my mom did particularly much 2 years in the past. She have been given brought on at approximately 6am and via 11 we had my little sister. It went o.k., we watched the international cup the full time until eventually it improve into pushin' time! The set off your contractions and all that w/ pitocin. Its given with the aid of an IV, that's the worst area for some! Your physique could take a on an identical time as, whether it could bypass promptly and painlessly! I recommend getting an epidural like my mom did. It can supply the prospect to savor the adventure and extremely take all of it in. purely remember, absolutely everyone's hard paintings adventure is diverse- yet I surely wish yours is a robust one- Im helpful it is going to likely be!

I was induced with Pitocin at about noon and had baby at 9:34pm. For me, my water had broke, so I had to be induced, as I had absolutely no contractions. I would ask that they start with a cervix softener, seeing as Pitocin is extremely hard on you. I went from painless contractions to extremely painful, every 2 min, contractions. I'm so hoping I don't have to be induced again, as it hurt sooo bad. I want the build up of the contractions, even if I'm overdue (I would probably induce if I make it to 42 wks though, for my and baby's health).
