You mean "first person" and "third person". This describes the narrative voice of the story.

"First person" means the story is narrated by a character in the story. It's not just about that person, it's told in their voice. "I woke up early that morning and saw something horrible. There was a dead rat on my floor. I screamed..."

"Third person" means the story is narrated by an external voice, not one of the characters. "Sally Smith woke up early that morning and saw something horrible. There was a dead rat on her floor. She screamed..."

Most fiction is told in the third person. This is especially true of novels. Just looking at my own bookshelf, I'd estimate that only about 1/5 of the novels I have are told in first person perspective; all the rest are third person.

There is second person perspective, but it's very rarely used in literature. "You woke up early that morning and saw something horrible. There was a dead rat on your floor. You screamed..."

Do you mean first person and third person? First person means that the narrator tells the story from their point of view They would use I and me a lot. For example: I slowly walked down the stairs and into the storage room where I ran into Frank the mailman.

Third person is when the narrator is not the main part of the story. They use they and them a lot. For example: Yesterday he went to the store. He picked up a candy bar and handed a dollar to the man behind the counter. Then he left the shop and went back to his house.

Third Person-A point of view from a person not involved in the story. Uses words like they, them, he, she, it, etc.

First person (or character) means I or ME , written as if you--the author--are the main character. Conversation is written as I SAID, or I REPLIED, etc.
Third person is everyone else. HE SAID/ SHE SAID, THEY SAID/THEY REPLIED.
