I think it could happen.

My mom worked with a lady and they played on a Soft ball team together. One day at practice, this lady stood there and started looking around. She told my mom that she heard her husband yell out her name. Later that evening the Police came to her door and told her that her husband had been killed in a motorcycle accident.

So things can happen.
