Yeah, he is serious: He needs a rebound relationship with somebody young and hot. If he really is serious with you, he will wait until he has sorted out the other parts of his life, and in the meantime you should continue what you are doing wrt dating other guys. If he pressures you, just tell him that you feel uncomfortable seeing him until all the issues with his ex are settled. And by the way, it is not a good idea to get involved with somebody at your job, especially if there is a big difference in the roles you play at work (and I'm guessing that he is in a position to cause real damage to your employment opportunities at you facility, given the difference in age).
