If you think getting kicked in the nuts is unfair, do what I did:
Start by lightly slapping your balls, and gradually increasing the force you use to hit them, building up a higher pain threshold as you go. It'll hurt like hell at first, but eventually, you'll get used to it, and that's when you step it up a notch.
I'm at the point where the calcified scar tissue on my testicles can withstand the impact of a wrecking ball.
Not that I would do anything to warrant a kick from a girl, but if one did decide to get cute with me, she'd end up breaking her foot instead of my ego.

Like Leonard S said...it's not about fair. If you don't intend to put someone down for the big sleep, you don't need to be fighting. In a self defense situation you need to worry about yourself and expect that they mean the same to you, so cheat to win.
If the groin is their weakness, the groin it is, but I'm also a fan of the eye gouge based on availability of options. Now if it was a male of any other species, choke the filthy bugger on your fist. They might gnaw/maul you a lil bit before you get your fingers on their tongue, but you'll stop em so long as it's not a biggun like a bear!

A woman has little upper body strength compared to men. She does, however, have good lower body strength. It's a lot easier and more effective to knee a guy in the groin than to go for his eyes, nose, etc. And going for the throat is no guarantee either, unless she just so happens to have a weapon in her hand. And as Z pointed out, when it comes to self-defense, all bets are off. If you never attack a woman, you will probably never have to experience this.

That's because that's often the easiest area to hit. Other places such as eyes or throat can be protected or are inaccessible. Kneecaps are also a good area to hit but they have to be hit at just the right angle to be effectively dislodged. Self-defense courses often emphasize the groin area due to its ease of access and effectiveness in inflicting excrutiating pain. You may not like it but being hurt like that is better than the woman getting raped or even killed by an attacker.

Have you ever been kicked in the balls? It hurts more than anything else I can think of. It's an easy target besides, much easier to land a blow on than the throat. If done correctly, it entirely incapacitates a man. Waves of pain and nausea flow over you and it hurts all over, not just in the groin. I do firmly believe it should only be used in dire circumstances though, only in the most extreme cases.

If I were being attacked by someone physically stronger than me, male or female, I would not be worrying about their comfort. I would be kicking, scratching, biting at whatever was within reach. I don't think I would be very rayional in my fighting back nor would I care as long as they got off of me. As a woman, yes I would go for the groin, as little girls we're taught not to hit boys there because it hurts. Do you seriously think that if I'm attacked I'm not going to want to hurt you in anyway possible. In a mere arguement I would never hit a man there, but in a fight for my life , yes I would.

If my life or honor are at stake, any target is fair game. Unfair, pbht! Men are typically bigger and stronger. Going for the groin acheives maximum effect with minimum effort and minimal skill. It takes some technique/knowledge to bust a knee. And instep, you must be joking, that's not a very effective target in such a situation.
Like I said though, I'd have to be afraid for my well-being because a VICIOUS MAN is attacking me before I would hit below the belt and then, it's on. I'll rip the d*** thing off if I have to (it's been done by others).
By the way, are they still swollen?

I would normally agree with your assertion....hitting below the belt is, well, below the belt. But you used the term 'self defence'. This implies inherent danger to her person, and she will use the most effective means necessary to immobilize her attacker and get herself out of harm's way. Unfortunately, the media (tv, movies) have depicted a knee to the groin as the most effective, when, in fact, gouging out eyes, or smashing the butt of your hand to the nose will be far more effective...in self defence.

If you are in a self defense mode.. you need to use the most effective tool you have....
A shot to the groin disables the man, and gives you time to escape...
That's not the time to think about niceties, like his feelings - because he's NOT thinking about yours...
Do what needs to be done to save yourself. Otherwise, you are doomed to be a victim.

If a man is trying to rape me then I will do everythign in my power to POWER KICK HIS GROIN? DO YOU THINK THAT SHOUDL BE AVOIDED THEN?
If a man is trying to attack anyone in my fmaily to include MY DOG I am going for the jewels b/c we women know that it dehabilitates a man to the point of excruciating pain. Do you think raping a women is okay? I'm sure you don't then I believe you will justify doing that to a guy. If I had a gun I would just shoot his head off if he were trying to hurt me but since I don't carry a gun around I would use my legs/feet to alter his future.
now random kicking would not be a nice thing to do, but what woman would do that? We have to be in a situation (unless "she" is the criminal then that's a different situation!")
Oh and for all the guys who are saying women are just weaker... hmm.. why don't you pull the TIME magazine report on how boys are consistently scoring in the lowest percentile (consistently) in all areas while girls are excelling in all areas (academically and socially). In addition... isn't it amazing how a 94 pound girl could take down a 300 pound man by just kicking him in the groin. I'm not sure I would call that weak, and if you do then that confirms it... WEAK.
